The Agua Dulce ISD has served this community since 1910, and the school is still the most visible local institution. The community itself runs small, somewhere between 300 and 700 people depending on the source and the year, but the traffic on the roads around it is much larger than the population suggests. SH-44 carries the Corpus-to-Alice flow through the intersection with FM 70 at the center of town, and FM 70 runs north toward Chapman Ranch and the southern edge of Corpus Christi.
